Tim Seifert smashed a powerful 93 as New Zealand defeated India by seven wickets to wrap up the T20I series in Hamilton.

The hosts chased down a 192-run target with 12 balls remaining. Glenn Phillips, New Zealand's hero from the fourth T20I, made an unbeaten 65 off 38.

Earlier, India posted 191/8, with Ishan Kishan (61) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (50) scoring half-centuries. India had clinched the series by winning the first three matches.

India's innings started poorly, with Abhishek Sharma (1) and Sanju Samson (4) dismissed by Adam Milne, who finished with 4/19, while his fellow pacers Nathan Smith and Blair Tickner claimed two apiece.

Arshdeep Singh struck early to remove Finn Allen (2) but Daryl Mitchell and Seifert steadied the ship with a 73-run stand.

The series will head to Auckland for the first of a five-match ODI series, starting November 4. The lengthy tour spans the whole month and will end with two Test matches, the second scheduled to start on November 27 in Christchurch.

Brief scores: India 191/8 in 20 overs (Ishan Kishan 61, Shreyas Iyer 50, Naman Dhir 33, Adam Milne 4/19, Nathan Smith 2/28, Blair Tickner 2/38) lost to NZ 195/3 in 18 overs (Tim Seifert 93, Glenn Phillips 65 not out, Daryl Mitchell 29)
